Pharmacist and applied enzymologist with expertise in biocatalysis, synthetic biology, and sustainable biomanufacturing. Since 2025, serves as a Research Associate at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (University of Manchester, UK), working within Professor Neil Dixons group in Sustainable Biotechnology as part of the BBSRC Global Centre CIRCLE (Centre for Innovative Recycling and Circular Economy), a prestigious 82M international initiative supported by the UKRIBBSRC and the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). His research focuses on enzymology, biomass valorization, and synthetic biology, developing microbial and enzymatic systems capable of transforming carbon-rich waste into valuable biochemicals advancing circular and sustainable bioeconomy solutions.Founder and CEO of NexVitro Biologics, an award-winning Brazilian biotechnology company developing certified (ISO 9001 and ISO 13485) molecular diagnostics reagents and enzymatic products. NexVitro has been recognized for its impact on the national bioeconomy, establishing strategic partnerships with institutions such as UNICAMP, Fiocruz, and EMBRAPII, and earning several national innovation awards (CNI, SEBRAE).Previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil), focusing on enzymatic biocatalysis for the derivation of bioactive and aromatic compounds from lignocellulosic biomass, and on microbial biodegradation of non-biodegradable plastics.Dr. Tramontina holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and has 15 h-index, 22 peer-reviewed publications, and over 700 citations.
