In 2013, worked in a research project on the investigation of Aurora A and Aurora B kinases as potential therapeutic targets in KRAS-induced lung cancer at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Cancer (University of São Paulo, Chemistry Institute). Has experience in Collective Health, focusing on Public Health and Social Control, researching how much people might know about the Management Councils of their local Basic Health Units. Fernando worked on a project that wants to understand the role of the inhibition of tumor supressor gene FOXO1 in lung cancer oncogenesis mediated by mutations in KRAS. Fernando has also been the president of Liga de Combate a Febre Reumatica, a student organization that aims to provide healthcare to patients that suffer from rheumatic heart disease. Nowadays, Fernando takes the Molecular and Integrative Physiological Sciences Program course at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and acts as a researcher at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
