Dr. Floriano obtained a degree in Biological Sciences (2001-2004) and a Masters degree in Animal Science (2006-2008) from the University of Western São Paulo (UNOESTE, Presidente Prudente, SP). He earned his PhD in Pharmacology (2010-2014) from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Campinas, SP), completing a sandwich doctorate (2013-2013) at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences from University of Strathclyde (SIPBS, Glasgow, Scotland). Following this, he secured his first postdoctoral position in Pharmacology (2015-2018) at UNICAMP and SIPBS. Currently, Dr. Floriano holds the position of Academic Visitor (2025-2026) in the Neurosciences Laboratory at SIPBS, supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP, São Paulo, SP). His research focuses on the structural and pharmacological characterization of bioactive components of animal venoms, including investigations into synthetic enzyme inhibitors as potential complementary therapies to antivenoms. He serves as a Permanent Professor in the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Programs in Health Sciences and Animal Science at UNOESTE, where he is also a Full Professor of Pharmacology, Biotechnology, and Tissue Biology in the Undergraduate Program in Biomedicine.
