Birthplace: Brazil

Jéssica Alves Nogueira holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (2013), a master's (2015) and a PhD (2020) degree from the University of São Paulo - Institute of Chemistry of São Carlos. She has experience in electrochemistry, studying the electro-oxidation of small organic molecules in proton exchange membrane reactors (both fuel cells and electrolyzers) and the dissolution of platinum electrodes. Interested in the processes taking place between an electrode and an electrolyte, core reactions to enable a hydrogen economy (for example, reaction of reduction/evolution of oxygen, reduction of carbon dioxide), specific or non-specific adsorption of anions/cations, aiming at a better understanding of how the interface composition affects both activity and stability of electrocatalysts.
