Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Física (IF) (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal) Birthplace: Brazil
I am currently assistant professor at the Institute of Physics in the University of São Paulo in the Department of Experimental Physics. My research interests are the initial formation of the professor of Physics and the formation and use of scientific concepts. I defended my doctorate in 2013, on the Practicum in Physics teaching, in the Program Interunity Science Education (Physics modality) of the University of São Paulo, with year-long intership in the University of Helsinki (Finland). In 2009, I got the master's degree in the same program on the scientific concepts formation and the conceptual profile model. Between 2014 and 2017 I was Brazilian representative at the International Society for Cultural-Historical Activity Research (ISCAR) and since 2005 I have been a member of the Research Group on Science and Complexity Education (ECCo). My research interest is in understanding the processes that lead Physics teachers to stay in their careers and how their initial training helps them to develop their practice in the early years, how the undergraduate curriculum in teacher education program is organized, and what the role of experimentation is in initial teacher training. I am also interested in the processes of training and use of scientific concepts. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
