He holds a degree in Social Sciences - Bachelor's Degree from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1992), a Master's Degree in Social Anthropology from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1996), a PhD in Social Science (Social Anthropology) from the University of São Paulo (2005), and a postdoctoral degree from the Dipartimento di Filosofia, Scienze Sociali, Umane e della Formazione della Università degli Studi di Perugia, in Italy (2012). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University of São Paulo (Undergraduate Program in Social Sciences and Graduate Program in Social Sciences) and a collaborating professor in the Graduate Program in Social Anthropology at the Federal University of São Carlos. He has experience in the field of Anthropology, with an emphasis on Indigenous Ethnology, working mainly on the following topics: Indigenous Peoples of South America, social organization and kinship, dualism, and ritual.
