Birthplace: Brazil

Ricardo Tiosso Panassiol holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from Universidade Anhanguera-UNIDERP (2007-2012) and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (2009-2014). He earned his Master's degree in Experimental Psychology from the Sensory Psychophysiology Laboratory at Universidade de São Paulo (2015-2017) and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Behavior at the same institution (2019-Present). With experience in behavioral and neurocomputational phenomena, Ricardo's master's research focused on the neuronal processes underlying behavior by investigating the physiological and computational bases of visual perception, with an emphasis on the electrophysiological activity of the retina. In his Ph.D., he is researching the computational processes of neural coding in thalamo-cortical circuits involved in pattern completion by principal components, classification, integration, and sequence formation of afferent and efferent sensory information through phenomenological modeling in artificial neural networks inspired by deep learning. In addition to his academic pursuits, Ricardo works as a clinical behavioral psychologist (CRP14 07139-0) and conducts research in the areas of Computational Neuroscience, Systems Neuroscience, Behavioral Neuroscience, Neuroengineering, and Behavior Analysis.
