I have a Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D., 2002) and a Master Degree (M.Sc., 2004) in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil), and a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D., 2009) from Federal University of São Paulo (Brazil). I was a post-doctoral associate at The Laboratories for Reproductive Biology, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (USA) from 2010 to 2012, and a Young Investigator - CNPq Program Science without Borders at the Department of Pharmacology, Universidade Federal de São Paulo from 2012 to 2015. Currently, I am an Assistant-Professor of Pharmacology at the ?Instituto de Biociências de Botucatu - Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (IBB-Unesp)? I have experience in Pharmacology, focusing in Pharmacology Molecular Biochemistry, Experimental Endocrinology and Reproductive Biology, working on the following research fields: 1) Epididymis: characterization of mechanisms involved on the regulation of epididymal gene expression and functions, as well as identification of epididymal protein targets for the development of male contraceptive drugs; 2) Actions of androgen and glucocorticoid hormones in the male reproductive tract; 3) Functions and mechanism of action of antimicrobial genes as members of innate immunity in the male reproductive tract and their role in male fertility; and 4) Characterization of protein-protein interactions in the epididymis and sperm with roles in sperm maturation and motility.
