PhD in social anthropology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He holds a doctorate in the University of California San Diego (UCSD) program of anthropology. He was a visiting researcher at the Global Health Institute of UCSD in the United States and in Ciesas in Mexico. He completed postdoctoral studies in the department of philosophy and religion studies at Utrecht University, The Netherlands. He is currently a permanent professor at the Unicamp Postgraduate Program in Anthropology. He coordinates the research project "Institutional Spirituality", based in Unicamp and supported by FAPESP in the Young Researcher modality, and is a member of the board of directors of the Association of Social Scientists of the Mercosur Religion (2015-2018) His works include the editor and author of the Encyclopedia of Latin American Religions (ed Springer), author of the books On the Nature Trail, eds N.Science Publishers, 2015) and of the spirit in health (Ed Libertarians, 2018), besides the organization, among others, of the works: Conservatives, Fascisms and Fundamentalisms (Ed. Unicamp, 2018), How things Matter: a material approach to religion (eds., UFRGS, in press), and Entre trópicos : Diálogos de estudios Nueva Era entre México y Brasil (Casa Chata, 2018) (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
