BSc in Chemistry (1991), MSc in Chemistry (1994), and PhD in Chemical Sciences (1998) from the University of Sevilla (Spain). Associate Professor in the Department of Physical-Chemistry at the University of Sevilla (2009-2014). Currently, an Associate Professor and vice-chief in the Department of Physical-Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry at Unicamp (Brazil) since 2014. He spent several post-doctoral stays at the Universities of Reading and Warwick (UK) between 1998 and 2003. He was a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford in 2008-2009, developing computational strategies to simulate self-assembled systems. He has published +75 articles in international journals about different research topics using atomistic modeling, including chemical reactivity, biomaterials, and heterogeneous catalysis. Active participation in +30 funded research projects. He has participated as invited speaker in +50 international events. He is the leader of the Unicamp Materials Simulation Lab (https://umsl.iqm.unicamp.br/). Main research area: Theoretical and computational chemistry applied to Materials Science.
