Tania Cristina Pithon-Curi holds a Ph.D. in Human Physiology from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of São Paulo. Conducted postdoctoral studies in the field of medicine at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), Bethesda, United States. Visiting Professor of the Graduate Program in Human Physiology, Department of Physiology and Biophysics at USP (2000-2015), Visiting Professor at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, USA (2017-2018) and Adjunct Professor at Curtin University, Perth, Australia (2016-2017). She is Full Professor at the Center for Biological and Health Sciences at the Cruzeiro do Sul University. Currently, she is Provost of Graduate Studies and Research at the Cruzeiro do Sul and São Paulo City Universities and Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Sciences of the Health (Medicine I) at the Cruzeiro do Sul University. Research in the area of physical exercise and leukocyte function, metabolism of glucose and glutamine and apoptosis. She supervised 19 master's dissertations and 10 doctoral theses, also, supervised 4 post-doctorates and 2 young researcher (scholarship from FAPESP). She received several grants from FAPESP, CNPq and the Ministry of Sports for the development of research projects. She chaired the CAPES Thesis Award Committee 2011 and participated in the 2012 CAPES Thesis Award Committee in area 21. She coordinated the Private Universities Segment in the National Directory of the National Forum of Research and Graduate Provost (FOPROP, 2016-2017). Reviewer of articles in the following journals: Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, Journal Applied Physiology, British Journal of Sports Medicine, American Journal of Physiology: Lung, Clinica Chimica Acta and Kidney Internacional. She is the author of the book Fisiologia do Exercício, published by the publisher Guanabara Koogan and 21 book chapters. She published 110 articles in international journals.
