Pedro Oliveira C. Junior received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Sao Paulo State University, UNESP, Brazil, in 2020, with a period at the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy. He was a Visiting Scholar with Fraunhofer Joint Laboratory of Excellence on Advanced Production Technology of the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy, from 2017 to 2018. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), School of Engineering of São Carlos, Departament of Electrical and Computing engineering, Brazil. His current research interests include digital signal processing, sensing technology, acoustic emission, sensor data processing, fault diagnosis, pattern recognition, and machine learning for industrial automation. He holds 2 patents and authored/co-authored more than 40 technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Sensors Journal and a reviewer of the IEEE transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, IEEE Access, Measurement, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, and Journal of Physics D-Applied Physics. He was also the recipient of some honors from the professional societies, including IEEE Senior Member, Reviewer Recognition, Best Paper Award, and Best Ph.D. Thesis Award.
