Marcus V. T. Soares is currently a PhD. student (Fellowship: FAPESP) in Geosciences at the State University of Campinas, UNICAMP - SP, Brazil. BSc. in Geology and MSc. in Geosciences by the State University of Campinas. From 2011 to 2012 Marcus carried out a minor research project focused on coastal geomorphology named ?Relief Compartimentalization of the Picinguaba Conservation Unit, Ubatuba, São Paulo?, sponsored by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development - CNPq. During 2014 accomplished a year abroad as a Geology Student from the Program ?Sciences Without Borders?, funded by CNPq, at the University of Bristol, England, with an academic level of Bachelor?s Degrees with Honours, where he also had a brief experience applying Upscalling techniques on 3D Modelling of Atoll type Carbonate Platforms using the software Carb3D. Also during 2014 the student was awarded with the Subaru Minority Student Scholarship by the Geological Society of America given his academic performance. In 2016 Marcus participated in a research internship abroad at the Geological Studies Unit - Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata - India (Fellowship: VRERI - BRICS) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tapan Chakraborty focusing on the analysis of proterozoic aeolian deposits.
