He holds a degree in Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (1984), a Master's degree in Psychology (Social Psychology) from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1993) and a Doctorate in Post-Graduate Studies in Social Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1998), in which he obtained a Sandwich Scholarship to improve his studies and carry out part of the research at the Università degli Studi di Milano (1996-1997), mentored by Dr Alberto Melucci. He was professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (graduation), the São Marcos University (Post-graduation in Psychology) and the Metodist University of Piracicaba (undergraduate and graduate in Education). He has experience in social psychology, with emphasis on Political Psychology, working mainly on the following topics: Afrodescendant identities, human rights, children's and adolescents' rights, public social policies, collective action, gender issues, masculinities, social control, political participation and Brazilian democracy. Managed the participatory platform: Observatory of Public Policies directed to Children and Adolescents of Piracicaba. He currently participates in the GEPSIPOLIM/EACH-USP and teaches classes in the discipline Political Psychology of Everyday Culture together with professors Alessandro Soares da Silva and Vinícius Furlan.
