He obtained his PhD in archeology at the University of Messina. He did his first post-doctoral research on the Hellenistic architectural decoration of Nea Paphos - Cyprus, at the University of Thessaly (Volos) and the second on spolia in Sicily, at Labeca - MAE/USP. He has experience in field archaeology with focus on: Greek and Roman architecture, Hellenistic and imperial architectural decoration, reuse of spolia, specifically from Sicily, Greece and Cyprus.
