Forestry Engineer by the Federal University of Viçosa (DEF/UFV), Master in Tropical Forest Sciences by the National Institute for Amazon Research (CFT/INPA), and Ph.D. in Remote Sensing by the National Institute for Space Research (SER/INPE). She has extensive experience in organizing field surveys and processing multitemporal active (LiDAR) and passive (optical) remote sensing data for tropical forest ecology studies, focusing on the quantification of climate-related and fire-induced changes in forest structure and dynamics. She currently performs research consultancy for the Amazon Environmental Research Institute, working on data spatialization and collaborating in model development for quantifying direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions from forest fires.
