Nahieh Toscano Miranda

Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) in the Department of Chemical Technology. PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) (2021) in the area of petroleum valuation, with activities carried out at the Petroleum Valuation Laboratory (VALPET) in partnership with Petrobras-Cenpes/Cepetro. Master in Chemical Engineering at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) (2018) in the area of thermochemical processes, focusing on biomass pyrolysis, with activities carried out at the Laboratory for Optimization, Design, and Advanced Control (LOPCA). Experience in chemical processes for the treatment of crude oils: centrifugal and electrostatic desalting and dehydration, through pilot plants, in addition to several physicochemical and chromatographic characterizations of petroleum. I have also worked with atmospheric, vacuum, and molecular distillation pilot plants. I have carried out professor internships in the field of Chemical Engineering, developing experience with chemical design, technical-economic analysis, mass diffusion, mass transfer, general chemistry, etc. I also have experience in the field of biomass characterization, process simulation, and pilot plant process application. Graduated in Biofuels Technology from the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP), Campus Matão (2015), with scientific initiation activities in the area of Analytical Chemistry, in partnership with the Fuel Quality Monitoring and Research Center, Biofuels, Oil, and Derivatives (CEMPEQC, IQ-UNESP, Araraquara), acquiring experience in gas chromatography, development and validation of chromatographic methods, fuel quality analysis and evaluation of fuel adulteration. Academic internship in Canada at Niagara College Canada through the Science Without Borders Program. Internship abroad at the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Center (Canada).
