The researcher obtained his BS degree from Universidade de São Paulo in 1988, and his PhD in Biological Sciences with emphasis in Biochemistry. Currently his is a Scientific Researcher VI at Instituto Agronomico de Capinas. He has experience in Cellular and Molecular Biology in especial on Plant Molecular Biology, Genomics, Functional Genomics, and Bioinformatics, working mainly on the following subjects: plant-pathogen interactions, functional characterization of terpene synthases, and genome editing. He was an invited professor at State University of Campinas's College of Technology, being in charge of the course "Topics in Technology for Information II: Introduction to Bioinformatics. He is also advisor in two Graduate Programs, at UFSCAR and IAC.
