Pos-doc (1997-1999) at The University of British Columbia - Canada on in situ testing for geotechnical and geo-environmental site characterization. Brazilian representative of the TC-102: Ground Property Characterization from In-Situ Tests from the - ISSMGE International Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering. Full professor at the São Paulo State University and former coordinator of Civil and Environmental Engineering Graduate Program. The major research area is Geotechnical Engineering working on the following subjects: tropical soils, in situ testing, piezocone, site investigation, foundation engineering and geo-environmental geotechnics.
