Master (1995) and Ph.D. (1999) in Physiology in the PPG in Sciences (General Physiology) at the Biosciences Institute of the University of São Paulo. Postdoctoral research at the same institution between 2000 and 2003, with an internship (FAPESP) at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. She is currently a full professor at the Department of Physiology (IB-USP), Productivity scholarship (PQ-1B, CNPq) and collaborator in projects developed with researchers at the UNESP Aquaculture Center, UNESP-Ilha Solteira, University of Mogi das Cruzes, CSIRO (Australia ), Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, Università Politecnica delle Marche (Italy) and Universidad de Buenos Aires. My studies are in the areas of Comparative Physiology, in the sub-areas of metabolism and endocrinology of fish; Aquaculture, using physiology as a tool for applied studies; and in the area of Aquatic Ecotoxicology, using biomarkers at different levels of biological organization to study impacted environments. Within these areas, I study lipid and fatty acid metabolism, gonadal steroids, gonadotropins, effects of pollutants on the reproductive physiology of fish and physiology projects applied to the cultivation of tropical fish should be highlighted. I develop projects with marine fish, mainly with the group of Serranidae (dusky grouper) and cobia, in projects developed at CEBIMar / USP.
