Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Biociências (IB)  (Institutional affiliation for the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Master degree (1995) and PhD (1999) in Physiology at the General Physiology Program of the Biosciences Institute of the University of São Paulo. Postdoctoral studies at the same institution between 2000 and 2003, with a six-month sandwich scholarship (FAPESP) at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. She is currently a full professor at the Physiology Department at IB-USP, a Pq-1C productivity scholarship (CNPq) and collaborator in projects developed with researchers from the UNESP Aquaculture Center, UNESP-Ilha Solteira, University of Mogi das Cruzes, Universidad de Buenos Aires and Instituto de Pesca / SP. She works in the area of Comparative Physiology, in the sub-areas of fish metabolism and endocrinology with application in the area of fish farming and aquatic ecotoxicology. Within these areas, it should be highlighted works that involve lipid and fatty acid metabolism, gonadal steroids, gonadotropins, effects of pollutants on the reproductive physiology of fish and physiology projects applied to the cultivation of tropical fish. She also studies marine fish, mainly the serranid group, with morpho-physiological aspects of hermaphroditism, induced reproduction and larval development, with support from CNPq and FAPESP, in projects developed at CEBIMar / USP. Supervises in the Graduate Programs in General Physiology at IBUSP and Aquaculture at CAUNESP. She is a Principal Investigator (PI) in Thematic Project (FAPESP) "Impacts of Climate and Environmental Changes on fauna: an integrative approach". (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
