Biomedical graduate from the State University of Santa Cruz-BA (UESC), with an exchange period as an undergraduate student at the University of Aveiro (UA), Portugal. During his graduation, I've participated in scientific initiation in the areas of parasitology and environmental microbiology and was qualified in the areas of Microbiology and Immunology. I have a master's degree in the postgraduate program in microbiology at the University of São Paulo, with a project aimed at the development of vaccine strategies for dengue, with transcutaneous application. With the advent of the epidemic caused by the Zika virus and my active participation in the development of specific diagnostic tests, I achieved a PhD degree at the same institution and a program, with a project aimed at the development of diagnostic tests for Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya viruses on the ELISA and Luminex platforms. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also had the opportunity to work in the development of diagnostics and vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. I'm currently at the Laboratory of Retrovirology at the Federal University of São Paulo as a postdoctoral fellow, developing a project for the virological characterization of different isolates of SARS-CoV-2.
