Biomedical graduate from the State University of Santa Cruz-BA (UESC), with an exchange period as a sandwich undergraduate student at the University of Aveiro (UA), Portugal. During his undergraduate studies he participated in scientific initiation in the areas of parasitology and environmental microbiology and was qualified in the areas of Microbiology and Immunology. He completed a master's degree in the postgraduate program in microbiology at the University of São Paulo, with a project aimed at developing vaccine strategies for dengue, with transcutaneous application. With the advent of the epidemic caused by the Zika virus, and his active participation in the development of specific diagnostic tests, he completed a doctorate at the same institution and program with a project aimed at developing diagnostic tests for Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya viruses on the ELISA and Luminex platforms. . During the COVID-19 pandemic, he also had the opportunity to work on the development of diagnostics and vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. He works at the Retrovirology Laboratory of the Federal University of São Paulo as a postdoctoral fellow, developing a project for the virological characterization of different SARS-CoV-2 isolates. He is currently at the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY, USA at BEPE FAPESP in Krammer's Lab. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
