P.C. de Sousa Filho is an Assiociate Professor (MS-5.1) at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Campinas (IQ-Unicamp, Campinas, Brazil). He is graduated in Chemistry (2008) and received his Ph.D. at the University of São Paulo (FFCLRP-USP, Ribeirão Preto, SP, Brazil) in 2013, with a post-doctoral period (2013-2017) at the Rare Earth Laboratory (FFCLRP-USP) under supervision of Prof. Osvaldo A. Serra. He performed a collaborative period (01-07/2012) at the Groupe de Chimie du Solide of the Laboratoire de Physique de la Matière Condensée at the École Polytechnique/CNRS (Palaiseau, FR), where he also developed a post-doctoral collaboration under supervision of Prof. Thierry Gacoin (2015 - 2016). Prof. de Sousa Filho became Assistant Professor at IQ-Unicamp in 2017 and became Associate Professor after his "habilitation" in 2022. He has experience in Inorganic Physical-Chemistry, specially in rare earths, luminescent materials, spectroscopy and related applications in the development of optical sensors and phosphors.
