Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with a focus on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Institute of Chemistry at the University of São Paulo (IQ-USP), including a sandwich undergraduate period at the University of Bristol (UK). Completed a PhD in Sciences (Biochemistry) at IQ-USP, with part of the doctoral research conducted at the University of Würzburg (Germany). Currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Berkeley (USA). Areas of expertise include biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology. Research interests focus on lipid and selenium metabolism and their relationship to lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis. Recent projects have investigated regulatory proteins involved in ferroptosis within cancer cell lines, aiming for potential therapeutic applications of this form of cell death.
