Ana Gabriela Morim de Lima

Ana Gabriela Morim de Lima is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Anthropology of the University of São Paulo (DA-USP), with a research focus on the contribution of indigenous peoples and local communities in Brazil to the generation and conservation of agrobiodiversity. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IFCS/UFRJ); a Master's degree in Sociology (with concentration in Anthropology) and a PhD in Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Graduate Program in Sociology and Anthropology - PPGSA-IFCS/UFRJ). Her general research interests include anthropological theory and amerindian ethnology; agrobiodiversity and associated local knowledge; human-plant relations and multispecies interactions; material and immaterial heritage; art, ritual and performance. Since 2004, she has been carrying out ethnographic fieldwork and projects of different kinds with the indigenous Krahô people (TO), whose central themes address the relationships between gardener, gender, kinship and ritual. She is a researcher associated to the Centro de Estudos Ameríndios (CEstA/USP), Núcleo de Arte, Imagem e Pesquisa Etnológica (NAIPE/UFRJ), and L'UMR Patrimoines Locaux, Environnement et Globalisation (PALOC - IRD/MNHN Paris).
