Graduated in Dentistry from the Federal University of Ceará (2017) with international exchange at the University of Sydney/Australia through the Science without Borders Program (CAPES 2013-2015). He holds a Master's degree in Biological Sciences/Pharmacology from Ribeirão Preto Medical School at the University of São Paulo (Fapesp 2017-2019) and is currently a doctoral candidate in Biological Sciences/Pharmacology from the same institution (Fapesp 2019- in progress) under the guidance of Prof. Thiago Mattar Cunha. Isaac is a scientific reviewer for international journals in the field of Pharmacology, Pain and Neuroscience, is an alumnus of the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO)/Canada and Associate Member of the Latin American Training Program (LATP) of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN)/United States. He was a virtual correspondent for the Pain Research Forum organized by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP)/United States with a focus on dissemination and scientific discussion of pain research. From 2022 to 2023, he did a research internship (FAPESP) at Yale University/United States under the guidance of Prof. Stephen Waxman, focusing on voltage-gated sodium channel mutations as risk factors for the development of antineoplastic-induced neuropathic pain. In 2023, he was nominated by the Brazilian Academy of Sciences to participate in the 72nd Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting: Physiology and Medicine organized by the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. My research interests are in the pathophysiological mechanisms in the development of chronic neuropathic pain induced by antineoplastic agents, focusing on neurometabolic changes and neuronal plasticity.
