I received my B.S. in Natural History from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (1973), M. S. in Cell Biology from Universidade Federal do Paraná (1982) and Ph.D., also in Cell Biology, from Universidade de São Paulo (1986). I did my post-doctoral training at NIH, Bethesda, Md, USA (1991). Currently I am full professor at the University of São Paulo. I have experience in the morphology with an emphasis in cell biology. My research focuses on mast cells, investigating mast cell precursors, recruitment of mast cells from the bone marrow to peripherial tissues, mast cell activation, signal transduction and mediator release.
