Tiago Rodrigues Tavares

Tiago is agronomist with PhD in Biosystems Engineering. He has held academic activities at the Federal University of Goiás (Brazil), University of Seville (Spain), University of São Paulo (Brazil), Ghent University (Belgium), and University o Sydney (Australia). He currently has a Post-Doc position at the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (CENA-USP), where he is developing the project " Spectral data modelling for tropical soil fertility analysis: association of vis-NIR and XRF techniques for the modernization of the traditional methods of analysis", funded by FAPESP. He received the Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the International Society for Precision Agriculture (ISPA) in 2022, and his thesis was awarded an honorable mention in the CAPES Thesis Award and the USP Outstanding Thesis Award, both in 2022. He was also awarded by the Bayer company in its Minds of Innovation Award initiative, which seeks to encourage young researchers. Tiago has experience in developing sensing approaches and spectral libraries for monitoring soils and plants in laboratory and in situ environments. He is interested in developing technologies to intensify the monitoring of agricultural systems in order to optimize their management through conservation practices. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
