Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro, in Uberaba-MG (1982), medical residency in Cardiology at Instituto Dante Pazzanese de Cardiologia (1983-86), specialization in Clinical and Nuclear Cardiology as International Scholar at The Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland-USA) and as " International Visitor Fellow" in Interventional Cardiology at Emory University (Atlanta-USA), both during 1987. The medical residency in Interventional Cardiology was held at the Instituto Dante Pazzanese de Cardiologia (1988-90). He holds a doctorate (PhD) in Cardiology from the University of São Paulo (1998-2001). He is a specialist in Cardiology by the Brazilian Society of Cardiology and in Interventional Cardiology by the Brazilian Society of Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology. He has been a public doctor at the Instituto Dante Pazzanese de Cardiologia since 1987, having held the following positions in this institution: Director of the Invasive Cardiology Service (2004-2011); Elected Clinical Director (2008-2010) and Medical Director of Fundação Adib Jatene (2009-2011). He currently holds the position of Director of the Instituto Dante Pazzanese de Cardiologia as of December 2017. He also belongs to the clinical staff of HCor and Hospital Edmundo Vasconcelos.
