Graduated in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology - University of Colorado (1987) and PhD in Immunology and Microbiology - University of Colorado Medical Center (1992), postdoctoral at DNAX Research Institute (1991-94), Visiting Associate Professor Stanford Univeristy (2006- 2007), and Visiting Researcher National Institutes of Health- National Cancer Institute (2021-current). He currently leads the Translational Immuno-oncology Laboratory, Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and Director of the Center for Research in Immuno-oncology (CRIO). He works with applied research to understand the interaction of cancer with the immune system and the pathogen-host interaction, aimed at developing new therapies, diagnostics and biomarkers of disease progression. Using a range of multi-omics approaches, including multiparameter flow cytometry, scRNAseq, IBEX, exome and transcriptome, we focus on immunoregulation research in cancer and human infectious diseases.
