Birthplace: Brazil

Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), with experience in plant genetics and molecular biology. During her undergraduate research at the Laboratory of Genetic and Molecular Analysis at UNICAMP, she conducted a study on the genetic basis of phenotypic differentiation between two natural populations of Avicennia schaueriana from contrasting latitudes under common-garden conditions. For her Ph.D. in the Graduate Program in Genetics and Molecular Biology at UNICAMP, under the supervision of Prof. Anete Pereira de Souza, she investigated the geographic and environmental influences on genomic divergence in mangrove forests. Additionally, she conducted research on gene coexpression networks to identify and understand molecular mechanisms and gene expression patterns associated with hypoxia adaptation in Avicennia species.
