Maísa Azevedo Beluomini

Maísa Azevedo Beluomini obtained her bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Uberlandia (UFU - 2011) - Brazil. Later, she completed her Master's degree (2014) and Ph.D. (2018) in Analytical Chemistry at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP) - Brazil. During her Ph.D., she worked as a visiting researcher at the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems at Ca' Foscari University of Venice in Italy. After completing her doctorate, Dr. Beluomini joined the research team of Professor Dr. Maria Valnice Boldrin Zanoni as a postdoctoral fellow (2019) supported by the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (FAPESP).Her contributions to the team involved utilizing her knowledge and expertise in developing electrochemical sensors based on screen-printed electrodes modified with nanoporous materials. These sensors were used for determining organic compounds of industrial interest in agro-wastes. Furthermore, Dr. Beluomini held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Bath in the UK, working in the laboratory of Professor Frank Marken (2022-2023).Her research interests include the development of electrochemical sensors for various applications such as clinical, environmental, pharmacological, and food science. She is also involved in research on electrosynthesis of nanostructured materials, disposable electrochemical devices, molecularly imprinted polymers, and the application of electrochemistry in water and energy technologies.
