Currently, I hold the position of visiting researcher at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois in Chicago, with a primary focus on nanotechnology research. Simultaneously, I have been conducting my Postdoctoral research at the National Nanotechnology Laboratory for Agribusiness (LNNA) at Embrapa Instrumentation since 2022. I earned my Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition with a focus on Food Science in 2022 from São Paulo State University (UNESP). Prior to that, I completed my Master's degree in Agrochemistry in 2018 and obtained my Bachelor's degree in Agroecology in 2015, with technical training in Agroindustry in 2013.Throughout my career, I have contributed as an ad-hoc reviewer for various scientific journals, including Food Chemistry, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, and Food Packaging and Shelf Life. Between 2018 and 2022, I served as a Collaborating Researcher at the Post-harvest Technologies of Fruits and Vegetables Laboratory at Embrapa Instrumentation. I have received recognition for the quality of my research in recent years, with two of my articles awarded by Wiley as 'Top Cited Article' and 'Top Downloaded Article' for the period 2021-2022. One of my articles was also chosen as the cover feature for the August 2021 edition of the Journal of Food Science.My research primarily focuses on the production of smart nanofibers using the solution blow spinning technique and on active, bioactive, and intelligent nanostructured biopolymeric films for food applications. I also work on the development of nanostructured edible coatings and nanoemulsions for disease control and enhancing the post-harvest quality of fruits. Additionally, I have experience in enzymatic hydrolysis of protein byproducts to release bioactive peptides and in the development of functional foods, including probiotics and symbiotics.My scientific output includes publications in specialized journals, book chapters, and contributions to conference proceedings, all related to the aforementioned topics.
