BA in Music (Piano) in 2001 by the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil). Was awarded a MA in 2009 in Traditional National Sports by Beijing Sport University (BSU, China), and a PhD in 2017 in Sports Science, specializing in Motor Control, by the University of Birmingham (UoB, United Kingdom). Her research is focused on motor control and neuroscience. In addition to her academic experience, she had a career in sports as a taijiquan (tai chi) athlete of the Kungfu Wushu National Team by the Brazilian Kungfu Wushu Confederation (CBKW) between 2003 and 2018. She is a former world baguazhang champion (2015 World Wushu Championships, organized by the International Wushu Federation - IWUF - in Jakarta, Indonesia), world taijiquan runner-up (2016 World Taijiquan Championships, organized by IWUF in Warsaw, Poland) and seven times pan american taijiquan champion (Pan American Wushu Championships, 2006 Canada, 2008 Brazil, 2010 Argentina and 2012 Mexico).
