Lucas de Paula Corrêdo

Professor in the Department of Agronomy (DAA) at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), specializing in Precision and Digital Agriculture. He holds a degree in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering from UFV (2009-2014) with an academic exchange at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). He earned a Master's in Agricultural Engineering from UFV (2015-2017) and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Systems Engineering from the Luiz de Queiroz School of Agriculture / University of São Paulo ESALQ/USP (2017-2021). He has professional experience as an agricultural engineer in the sugar-energy agroindustry and as an RD specialist in a startup focused on applying digital technologies to fruit cultivation. His research in Precision and Digital Agriculture involves the processing, analysis, and integration of sensor data applied to agriculture; the use of technologies for diagnostics and management of spatial and temporal variabilities in agricultural crops; on-farm precision experimentation; management zones; and high-throughput plant phenotyping. He is an associate member of the Brazilian Association of Precision and Digital Agriculture (AsBraAP) and is an advisor in the graduate program in Plant Science at UFV. Currently, he is a member of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Computation (IDATA/UFV) and coordinates the Digital Agriculture and Bioinformatics Laboratory, linked to the DAA/UFV, along with research in Digital Agriculture in collaboration with public and private funding.
