Birthplace: Brazil

I am a PhD candidate in Geography at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). At the same university I graduated with a Master's degree (2017), a Bachelor's degree (2013 and 2014) in Geography. In 2022/2023 I was a Visiting Scholar at the City University of New York-Graduate Center, at the Center for Place, Culture and Politics (BEPE-Fapesp). During my master's degree (CAPES scholarship) I was able to make a technical visit to the Observatóri de l'Alimentació (ODELA - Universitat de Barcelona) (2016). During my undergraduate studies, I did an internship at the Université Paris Diderot-Paris VII, in the Institute of Geography, History and Social Sciences (2012). I took part in the Amazon Academic Cooperation Project (PROCAD UNICAMP-UEMA-UFPA) between 2019 and 2022, during which time I carried out various research and teaching activities at the State University of Maranhão (UEMA). I have also taught in elementary schools in the state of São Paulo (2009-2019) and, in undergraduate education, I was part of the teaching staff of the Ensinar Teacher Training Program at UEMA (2021). Currently, I have a special interest in the area of Economic, Political and Urban Geography, with an emphasis on studies of the production of hunger in the metropolises of peripheral countries. My current research is funded by the São Paulo State Research Foundation (FAPESP), and I seek to understand, from the perspective of the theory of the Two Circuits of the Urban Economy, the Food Situation and the production of hunger in São Luís, the capital of Maranhão. I am co-author of the book "Fome e Assistência Alimentar na Pandemia" (Editora Paulus, 2022). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
