She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Taubaté (UNITAU) and a Master's degree in Genetics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She has experience in the area of animal genetics, systematics and population genetics, working on phylogeography, species conservation and delimitation.
