Received medical degree from Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA) and completed residency in neurosurgery at Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo - HFMUSP. During the medical school, he was involved in undergraduate research (Group of study in neuro-cardiology under the mentorship of Jamary Oliveira-Filho, MD. He also had intense participation in the Academic Group for the study of Trauma and Medical Emergencies, as its founder and member (2004-2008). In 2018, defended his doctoral thesis entitled: Effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on the cognitive functions of patients with diffuse axonal injury: a randomized, double-blind clinical trial At this moment, he is the coordinator of the Service of Neurosurgery of the Instituto do Cancer do Estado de Sao Paulo, Hospital das Clínicas da Faculadade de Medicina da Universidade de Sao Paulo. Filiations: Sociedade Brasileira de Neurocirurgia (SBN); American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS); Society of Neuro-Oncology Latin America (SNOLA) Main interests: general neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, neurotraumatology, neuromodulation and neurological rehabilitation.
