Graduate at Agricultural Engineer (1967-71), master's (1971-75) and ph.d.(1975-77) at Agronomy - Genetics and Plant Breeding from College of Agriculture "Luiz de Queiroz" (ESALQ) - University of São Paulo (USP). Post doctoral Scholar(1981-83) in Iowa State University (Ames, Iowa, USA). Since 1996 is Full Professor with USP/ESALQ/Department of Genetics. Has experience in Agronomy, acting on the following subjects: Genetics and Plant Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, Plant Genetic Resources (Germplasm), mainly in self-pollinated species with emphasis in soybean (Glycine max).
