Universidade de Ribeirão Preto (UNAERP). Campus Ribeirão Preto  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Over the past five years, I have published 29 index articles and 11 book chapters, serving as the first author on 13 and the last on another four. These works are related to projects with undergraduate and graduate students, as detailed in my Curriculum Vitae. Regarding international collaborations, I have worked with Prof. Dr. Roberto Spinosa Gutierrez from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC), Tijuana Campus, Mexico; Prof. Dr. Tom Preston from the University of Glasgow, Scotland; and Prof. Dr. Caroline Greig from the University of Birmingham, England. In 2023, I was accredited as a full professor in the graduate programs of Applied Biotechnology in Health at the University of Ribeirão Preto (UNAERP), rated five by CAPES, and Nutrition and Metabolism at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP-USP), rated four by CAPES.Currently, I supervise two PhD students, two master's students, and three undergraduate research students, all supported by FAPESP, CAPES, and CNPq scholarships. I also supervise two students involved in extension projects funded by institutional scholarships and nine undergraduate thesis projects. I have supervised 32 completed projects, including one PhD, two master's, and eleven undergraduate research projects funded by scholarships. I currently supervise four graduate students (master's and PhD) with CNPq and CAPES scholarships in the two graduate programs I participate in. I hold a degree in Nutrition from the University of Brasília (2002), a specialization in Gerontology from the Brazilian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology (SBGG), a master's degree (2006), a doctorate (2010), and a postdoctoral fellowship in Biomedical Research from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School (2015 and 2021). I am a professor in the Nutrition program at UNAERP, with a 40-hour workload dedicated to practical activities, collegiate participation, and teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. In the graduate programs, I teach the following courses: "Sarcopenia, Malnutrition, and Frailty," "Metabolism Assessment Using Stable Isotopes," and "Clinical Trials," offered in both programs.Since 2012, I have been a researcher at the Research Center on Aging and the Elderly (NAPENV) at USP, contributing to research lines focusing on sarcopenia, frailty syndrome, intrinsic capacity and its interactions with the environment, as well as the multicenter ICOPE-Brazil project. Additionally, I serve as a reviewer for national and international journals, editor of the journal Geriatrics, Gerontology and Aging (GGA), and a full member of both the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee (NDE) and the Collegiate Board of the Nutrition program at UNAERP. I am also part of the Red Interuniversitaria de Envejecimiento Saludable, Latinoamérica y Caribe (RIES-LAC).My expertise lies in Clinical Nutrition, emphasizing Gerontology and Biochemistry. I focus on evaluating nutritional status in older adults, dietary intake assessment, body composition, metabolism, and energy expenditure. My work incorporates stable isotope techniques (D2, 18O, 15N) to evaluate body composition, protein metabolism, and energy expenditure through Mass Spectrometry. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
