Dr. Zanardi-Lamardo got her bachelor's degree in Chemistry at Institute of Chemistry - University of São Paulo (1990), masters in Oceanography at Oceanographic Institute - University of São Paulo (1996) and Ph.D. at Marine Chemistry at University of Miami - Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (2002). At the same Institution worked as a post-doc with autonomous sensors deployed in different platforms such as buoys and ships (2003 - 2004). As a post-doc at Oceanographic Institute - University of São Paulo (2007-2008) worked with pharmaceuticals in estuarine sediments. Nowadays, work as Assistant Professor at Oceanographic Department at University of Pernambuco. Her expertise is in environmental chemistry and oceanography, focused in organic compounds, mainly petroleum hydrocarbons, geochemical organic markers, biocides and colored dissolved organic material (CDOM).
