Birthplace: Brazil

I am a biologist, physiologist and herpetologist, exploring the interrelationships between stress and immunity in amphibians. Graduated in Biological Sciences, University Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (Unesp - 2007), Master of Science (General Physiology) University of São Paulo (USP - 2010). PhD of Science (General Physiology) University of São Paulo (USP - 2015). Currently post-doctoral student at the University of São Paulo (USP). Experience in Physiology, with emphasis on Comparative Physiology, in the following subjects: Ecoimmunology, Stress, Endocrinology, Behavior, Reproduction, Stress and Immunity in Anuran Amphibians. I am using different approaches, such as the transdermal corticosterone application, to simulate changes related to the increase in corticosterone in acute stress events, the restraint challenge, and immune challenges (e.g., LPS and PHA injections). For measuring the immune response, I use cellular (e.g., phagocytosis) and humoral (e.g., complement system proteins and natural antibodies) variables; and for measuring stress, I use endocrine (e.g., corticosterone and testosterone plasma levels) and cellular (e.g., neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio) markers.
