Hudson Pinheiro had his bacharel in Biological Sciences (2006) and master degree in Environmental Oceanography (2010), both at Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES). He was a researcher associated to UFES from 2000 to 2012, was co-founder and president of the NGO Voz da Natureza between 2003 and 2009, and research director from 2009 to 2012. Hudson had his PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at University of California Santa Cruz, and is currently a scientist at the Center for Marine Biology (CEBIMar) of the University of São Paulo (USP), where he develops a Deep Reef Exploration Project, based on technical diving and field expeditions. Hudson also develops different projects with Voz da Natureza, UFES and California Academy of Sciences. His main research interest consists in evolution, biogeography and conservation of marine environments, specially reef ecosystems, oceanic islands, seamounts, and mesophotic reefs.
