Birthplace: Brazil

PhD in Chemistry with an emphasis in Physical Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Brazil. During the PhD, he carried out a research internship (sandwich doctorate) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Spain, developing a project on antimicrobial biopolymeric materials for the production of functionalized plastic packaging. He holds a Masters degree in Materials Engineering from the Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA, 2020), with a research internship at the Center for the Development of Functional Materials (CDMF-LIEC/UFSCar), where he investigated the synthesis of perovskite-based oxides for red ceramic pigments applied in wall and floor tiles. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry Education from IFMA (2018), having worked on the synthesis of titanate-based materials for use as ceramic pigments. He has experience in the synthesis of metal oxides and metallic nanoparticles by various chemical methods. His work also involves the extraction and characterization of antimicrobial materials based on polysaccharides and exopolysaccharides derived from microorganisms and plant sources, with applications in antimicrobial plastic packaging for food preservation. He has been actively involved in the field of photocatalysis, focusing on the degradation of persistent organic contaminants such as dyes, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals in real wastewater using semiconductors and diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMSs).
