Mariane Molina Buffo

CV Lattes ORCID

Birthplace: Brazil

I hold a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), with a portion of my doctoral research conducted at the Laboratory of Renewable Resources Engineering at Purdue University in the United States. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from UFSCar and a Bachelor's degree in Exact Sciences with a specialization in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (USP). My research expertise lies in Biochemical Engineering and the Development of Biochemical Processes. I have notable experience in specific areas such as hydrodynamics and oxygen transfer in bioreactors, cultivation of filamentous microorganisms for the production of industrially relevant metabolites (enzymes, bioinoculants, and whole cells), bioprocess scaling, and biorefineries. Additionally, I have experience in enzymatic and chromatographic analytical methods. In the field of education, I have experience teaching both basic subjects and higher-level courses, including Unit Operations, Introduction to Chemical Engineering, Laboratory of Reaction Engineering, and Biochemical Engineering. Currently, I serve as the Research Lead at Actinobac Agrosciences with a FAPESP scholarship, where I am involved in the development and scaling of bioinoculants production for agricultural applications."
