Graduated in Forestry Engineering and Master in Forestry Science from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and Ph.D. at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Kelly is a professor at the Federal University of São Carlos/ Campus Sorocaba-SP, responsible for the disciplines of "Meteorology and Climatology", "Watershed Management", "Recovery and Monitoring of Degraded Areas" and "Environmental Management" for the Forest Engineering course . In posgraduate, Kelly is coordinator and professor of the professional program in Sustainability in Environmental Management (PPGSGA-UFSCar) and professor of the academic programs of Geography (PPGGeo-UFSCar) and Planning and Use of Renewable Resources (PPGPur-UFSCar), where advises master's and doctoral students. Kelly collaborates with private institutions and international universities and institutes (Cleveland State University-USA; Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznán University of Life Sciences and Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences - Poland). Participated in several national and international events as a speaker. Head of the research group on Hydrology in Forest Ecosystems (Hidrolef-UFSCar), which includes undergraduate and posgraduate students, as well as national and international collaborators. The main research areas include: Hydrology in Forest Ecosystems, Conservation of Springs, Watershed Management, Recovery of Degraded Areas, Ecohydrology and Forestry Ecophysiology.
