CV Lattes ResearcherID ORCID

Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). Instituto de Química (IQ)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Vinicius has a position as Materials Science Research associate at the School of Engineering and Materials Science (SEMS) at Queen Mary University of London under supervision of Dr. Colin R. Crick as part of his doctorate thesis. Vinicíus is doctorate student (analytical chemistry) at the Institute of Chemistry, University of Campinas. The doctorate thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Susanne Rath, aims to develop analytical methods, such as bidimensional liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry for quantifying organic contaminants in water matrices; to assess advanced treatment processes (activated carbon, reverse osmosis, and photoperoxidation) aiming direct potable reuse of water; and develop innovative materials for water purification. Vinicíus holds a master's degree in Science: hydraulics and sanitation (São Carlos School of Engineering-USP). Thesis title: "Contaminants of emerging concern: ecotoxicological effects of some drugs on Raphidocelis subcapitata microalgae and potential for removal by activated carbon." Vinicíus also holds a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering (University of São Paulo), where he developed research entitled: "Evaluation of water and sediment quality in different compartments of the Lobo Reservoir - SP, with the help of ecotoxicological tests." Vinicíus has been working with ecotoxicological tests, environmental and sanitary risk analysis, liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry, emphasizing the use of triple quadrupole and Orbitrap analyzers, micro and nanomaterials characterizations (Raman, FTIR, XRD, SEM, DLS, and BET), the establishment of maximum residue limits (MRL) values and assessment of exposure through the IDMT, IDE, GECDE and GEADE models. Vinicíus collaborates on different projects: National Institute of Advanced Analytical Sciences and Technologies, coordinated by Professor Celio Pasquini; Determination of N-nitrosamines in different matrices, coordinated by Professor Susanne Rath; and challenge of the use of veterinary drugs in aquaculture, coordinated by Professor Susanne Rath. Vinicius has already worked as a consultant for the Animal Industry Union (Sindicato Nacional da Indústria de Produtos para Saúde Animal, Sindan) to establish MRL values. Vinicíus has experience establishing MRL values and withdrawal periods for using veterinary medicines. Vinicíus has already worked as a biology and chemistry teacher in the pre-university course, being COF of the Popular Cursinho in the 2021/2022 director board. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
