Yasmin Annunciato

Graduated in Biological Sciences (Universidade Paulista). She began her research activities during her first scientific initiation on the study of cellulase bioprospecting in soil bacteria from the Atlantic Forest, in the area of biotechnology (2019). She voluntarily interned at the Adolfo Lutz Institution (CLR IX Santos, medical biology) in the screening and reception of samples during a period of the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic (2021). She completed her second scientific initiation and technical project at UNIFESP-BS. where she developed the assessment of the sensitivity of malaria-causing parasite isolates to new medications, through a project financed by the institution Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) in cooperation with the University of São Paulo (USP). She is currently a master's student at UNIFESP-BS and is developing a project that evaluates new compounds as potential blockers of the transmission of Plasmodium spp. and in the treatment of the liver phases of the disease, a project financed by the Research Support Foundation of the state of São Paulo. Part of the project is being developed in partnership with the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, in Lisbon, Portugal.
