Claudio Shyinti Kiminami is a Materials Engineer from UFSCar (1977), Master in Mechanical Engineering from UNICAMP (1979) and Doktor-ingenieur from RWTH - Aachen, Germany (1986), visiting professor at the University of Florida (1999). He was a professor at UFPB in Campina Grande, from 1979 to 1989, Full Professor at the Dept.. Eng. of Materials, DEMa, at UFSCar, from 1990 to 2018 and Senior Professor at the Depto. Eng. of Materials at UFSCar since Nov 2018. Researcher 1A at CNPq, was a full member of the CA from CNPq in the Mining, Metallurgical and Materials area 2013 - 2016. Coordinated more than 30 research projects funded by CNPq, CAPES, MCT/FINEP and FAPESP, including thematic project-FAPESP, PRONEX project and CTINFRa. He took on various administrative positions at UFSCar, having been head of DEMa (1996-1998), coordinator of the PG Program in Materials Science and Engineering, PPG-CEM (2002-2004), member of the University Council (1996-1998, 2008) -2012, 2014-2016), Coordinator of PG courses at UFSCar (2005-2008), Dean of Research at UFSCar (2008-2012). Author of a textbook used in disciplines in the undergraduate courses in Materials and Production Engineering at UFSCar - Introd.Processes of Manufacturing of Metallic Products (Ed.Edgar Blucher Ltda, 2013) He is a certified advisor at PPG-CEM (CAPES 7) , having supervised 31 masters and 20 doctors, having published more than three hundred articles in journals indexed by the Web of Science. The thematic area of research is Physical Metallurgy and Transformation Metallurgy of Amorphous, Metastable and Nanostructured alloys with a focus on the development of new compositions, processing (Casting, Atomization, Thermal Spraying, Welding, High Energy Milling, Additive Manufacturing) and microstructural and properties (corrosion, wear, mechanical, H storage capacity, shape memory) characterization.
