Bruna Dias de Lima Fragelli

She is currently a researcher at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), where she is conducting a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Morphology and Pathology through the Office of the Pro-Rector for Research. She also holds a postdoctoral degree from the Department of Chemistry (UFSCar), with research focused on the in vitro cytotoxicity of silver-based semiconductors for bladder cancer treatment (20232025). She earned her PhD in Sciences (2022) and her Masters degree in Genetics (2018) from the Graduate Program in Evolutionary Genetics and Molecular Biology at UFSCar. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological SciencesLicentiate (2014) and Bachelor's (2018)from UFSCar (main campus). During her undergraduate studies, she participated in research projects, university extension activities, and the management of a junior enterprise. She serves as a reviewer for international scientific journals and has teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as in basic education and university entrance exam preparatory courses. Her areas of expertise include Parasitology, Immunology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Oncology, Synthesis and Characterization of Semiconductors, Ceramic Materials, and Surface Engineering. She has developed and continues to develop research related to: experimental vaccines and treatments for schistosomiasis in animal models; immunotherapy for bladder and colorectal cancer (in vitro and in vivo assays); cytotoxicity of materials at the micro- and nanoscale; surface engineering; identification of biomarkers in pulmonary, cardiac, and mental diseases; potential treatments for schistosomiasis using Amazonian compounds; and the development of diagnostics for various diseases. She is a member of the CNPq research groups on Parasitology and Immunology of Parasitic Diseases (Prof. Dr. Fernanda de Freitas Anibal) and Special Ceramic Materials (Prof. Dr. Elson Longo da Silva).
